Devastating floods in Sacramento and Northern California force construction of a levee system to protect the Sacramento valley and delta farmland.

Due to sharply falling wheat prices, the government offers some of the first agricultural subsidies in history to encourage farmers to replace their wheat fields with rice.

The Bayliss family moves from Glenn to Butte County and transitions to rice farming. It is thought around this time the brothers change the spelling of their name from Bayliss to Bayles.

Daniel Bayles buys a general store in McCloud CA. He builds this into a successful grocery and then sells it to return home to farm with his brothers. He also marries Evelyn Worth.

Donna joins Friends of First Ladies for the purpose of improving and redefining the First Ladies Exhibit at the Smithsonian, an effort that resulted in the total redesign of the original exhibit of first ladies gowns to go beyond their dresses and into the lives of these women and the roles they played in history. |

USDA dismisses Bronner/OCA complaint “USDA recognizes Bayliss Ranch ALLPLANT ESSENCE™ are 100% certified organic agricultural products. The [OCA] complaint contained allegations of fraud by the certifying agent and the certified operation. The Department’s review of the certification record disclosed no evidence of fraud of any sort. The allegations of fraud are unsubstantiated and are dismissed. This letter is the final decision of the Department’s National Organic Program.” (Richard H.
